Purist Reels. Good Prices?

You are a bad man for showing me that link Graham. I sense another addition to my centrepin collection.

Steve

Ring alans tackle in Worcester gents, they will price match, if not better it...and I heard them saying they had too many the other day..... Shhhhh

Hi David,
Not a bad reel but just couldn't get along with the 'brake' system on the reel ( it has no ratchet.

Graham,
Keep an eye on the classifieds, the Purists go regularly between £140-£160. The 2nd hand prices on higher end pins (Witchers, etc excepted ) has dropped since the arrival of the very acceptable mid priced Okumas. Not necessarily a bad thing as it brings a decent pin into the range of the masses.

Sorry Steve!

Dave.

Yes, but these are new so very tempting for not really a lot more.....

The lighweight Y2080 4.5" is tempting me.............tempting me......

Barry. Might try that....

Anyone got a very good Purist they might want to part with????

Excellent reel. I paid about £220 for my Purist 2 in around 2008/9. I use it for most of my barbelling as the rivers I fish don't usually require a long cast. I like the wide drum. Although I know I shouldn't, I quite fancy the John Wilson one!

anyone actually own a centre pin and use it on the rivers for ledge ring...really frustrating!
bit like a dumb blond looks nice but irritating after a while....

.

I own about nine c'pins, I use them for all fishing and on all rivers. Never frustrated, low or flood conditions. Don't do fixed spool reels.

Graham on the other hand is a c'pin tart. He talks about them, discusses which are good or not, but never uses them :p

Hiya Paul.

I have owned a few incl a purist and a revolver!!

Generally sell em after a few goes. I want one now for trotting only when I wear my newly acquired floppy hat of course.

Ha John

Can't do that. I plan to use him as a fishing guide for a certain rather large spin dryer and runner bean stick wielding chap from up North so I can get a bit of peace down the Pats.

I've sent you a pm

Come on Paul.
I've upgraded in the last 2 years to a centrepin that I cant use my foot as a clutch on and also
Has a far slower retrieve ratio.

In reality it was a backward step.
