Korda carp care kit

Leslie Howe

New Member
Does any one know what is in the Korda carp care kit - mouth/body one?

I'm guessing the mouth one (blue) is methylene blue - but I'm not sure....

thanks in advance.

No idea, it's doesn't say on mine, blue-mouth, green- body., the blue one stinks!

I have not even seen these kits Leslie, but will take a stab at their nature. As you say, the blue one is quite possibly Methylene Blue, while the green is possibly Malachite Green. Both are dyes which have been used for many years in aquaculture, i.e, in fish ponds and tanks to treat external fungal or bacterial infections and/or various external parasite infestations. Although they are a traditional treatment, they are old hat...and their benefits thought to be somewhat overstated. The jollop in the bottles in this kit may have other bactericides or treatments in them as well, making them more useful. But that is only a guess.

Cheers, Dave.

Dave i aint ever gonna fish in the valley again mate, i keep enough oxygen to enable a 24 hr session fishing but that cylinders really heavy,
my boy is back on thorney where he had a 40odd lber out of it a few years back
iam sticking to waters within a 1 1/2 hr trip max now:)

John, that is so sad...I had no idea you were so restricted by your ailments. I like to moan and groan about my health issues (mostly tongue in cheek I might add) but when I see someone so badly affected by their REAL problems, like yourself, it makes me realise how lucky I am.

I really hope you can get out and enjoy putting a bend in your rod as often as possible John, despite everything...and thank goodness you have your sons and a host of good friends to help you. Once these floods subside I reckon this could be a belter of a year...you may even catch some of the carp from the valley who came over your way on holiday during the floods :D

Take care of yourself and your missus as best you can John, and have a good one come the glorious 16th.

Regards, Dave.
