What’s the length, test curve and action like on them?
I’ve been meaning to build a fishing rod for a long time.

Have some good tubes to pack them.. Work in a plumbers merchants so my use rain water pipe see which is best

My mate thinks his son cod have original spec sheet is going to see him when he gets back from his easter holiday
Thanks for helping to organise all this. I'm very lucky to have this rod made by Mick already. He was the best rod builder I've ever worked with, always happy to have a chat when he could, and so accommodating 👍

You are very lucky to own one Julian, I saw an original yesterday and was blown away by it and it was a pleasure to have " waggle" with it. A true work of art.

I learnt a lot about the rods development and design from Mick yesterday who was a very good friend of Mick Holgate. I did ask him to write a piece about this and I do hope he can put something together as its a very interesting insight into an iconic rod.

Julian is the one making me want this rod so badly. And I think we are also lucky to have the blanks so we have a chance to reproduce this rod.

If you’ve got the original Julian then surely you could draw up the correct ringing configuration and share with the guys that have bought the blanks.

Let me know guy's, and I can dig it out and do some measuring if you guys need, not a problem.

Just for my information guys....

When doing these measurements am I measuring to the centres of the eyes on each of the blanks, for the top middle & butt sections? (It makes sense to me to do this) 👍

To measure the guide distance put the rod together and start at the tip. This way every rod done in this pattern will have exactly the same spacing when put together. If you start at the butt it will vary depending on handle length and if you don’t put the rod together it will vary depending on how far the joints go before they mate up.
Measure between the very center point on each guide which I assume will be the very top of the frame.
Make a note of which are singles and doubles but measure from the same point on all.

To measure a guide size you need a set of calipers.
You measure the outside diameter of the insert in mm and this will give you the guide size like so….

blanks have been packed in a strong card board tube then a section of rain water pipe place in side tube rod bubble wrapped placed
inside the RWP (i am a buyer for a plumbers merchant) so no extra cost involved, just a bit of added weight.
i belive the buyers have already spoke to Mick about collection
there are 2 blanks left
1 matt grey
1 black
if anybody wants to buy a blank contact myself in the future and it can be arranged
Carol would like to thank every one how purchased a blank and hopes you get many hours of enjoyment with them when there are built.
