Barbel Rod Refurb Recommendations

I have a pair of the original Drennan Specialist Power Barbel rods that have had a lot of use over the past 20 years, they are looking a bit tired with some loose worn guides whippings etc. Can anybody recommend where I can get these rods refurbished as I don't want to replace them ?

If you're Midlands based you could do worse than Bob the Rod at Fosters (now Angling Direct Brum) - he's keener priced than most and does a fantastic job; some rod builders can be funny about small repairs / re-builds etc

Bob's direct number is 01212708366 in case you want a quote. Or you can get him via the AD shop number. He doesn't work Wednesdays!

Chaz Burns , burns built rods , based in York , superb craftsman , if you go for chaz mention my name, his number is 07719788036

I have a pair of these rods, excellent Severn rods especially with some water on. I go really old school and use the old 6010s with them, really bomb proof.Bob is very good Dave, and and doesn't charge an arm and a leg, and given these rods are not fetching silly prices would be my choice.

Yes great rods Neil I believe they were built in the UK ? I always look out for them on eBay even though I have two !
I had forgot about "Bob The Rod " He repaired my Drennan Tench Float rod years ago and you would never know it had been repaired.

No job too big or small - very recently cut down the jap shrink wrap on my previously full shrink handles to 80%, whipped on some Neville ball pegs & my put my kids first names (3x) below the reel seats on my Black Edition Harrison Aviator Plus in a matching font - absolutely seamless work, really pleased and for a great price. Also put new full cork handles and DPS seats on my oldskool original edition Greys Powerplay that were previously abbreviated and mice chewed a couple of years ago. . . perfection - they look as new. Would also note that Bobs a really easy guy to yak to - nothing is a problem!
