Middy 30 Plus Camo XS Landing Net?

Hi All,
Anyone using the above landing net?? If so could you please tell me what the mesh is like plus is the net deep enough to rest fish in? I had yet another abu garcia landing net splinter in one of the arms yesterday:(

Plus would also like to hear from anyone using the fox 32 inch tri specialist net. ive looked at it a couple of times but that mesh looks far to fine for a river net?

Sorry lads i know this landing net chat has been murdered lately but its make your mind up time now for me:)
 
Not sure about the camo XS-T nets but i have the IQ Strong Arm camo barbel net and it's spot on. The mesh is plenty deep enough to rest fish in and allows water to pass through easily in a heavy flow. It's a 30" net, the XS-T's being 36" or 42" but the mesh looks the same.
 
I have the Middy Specialist Barbel net which is plenty deep enough for resting fish, also strong, I've landed 20lb carp in mine. My previous net was the ABU one which suffered the same fate as yours!
 
Thanks for the info lads. Andrew are you talking tri nets? Have you seen the middy camo 36 tri net the xs one?

Steve is yours the 36 tri net?
 
Yes thats the one Andrew and i have just ordered one...Whats the difference between the 2? Thank you for your help...Hope the net arrives for the weekend:)

Sorry John - you left the door wide open for that one! :) They're good nets, i wouldn't hesitate to buy another if i lost the one i have - and i would have to loose it to need another as they are solid - no chance of breaking it.

edit - there is a difference! the Barbel net has base weighted mesh to keep it down in the flow

I recieved the middy 30 plus xs 36 inch camo specimen net, its a nice made net nice strong arms and not a bad size mesh for the river..

At the same time i noticed on ebay a new Dinsmores 32 inch dark green specimen net, that arrived today, also had nice strong arms, 30 inches deep, strong metal spreader block, nice open mesh at sides with smaller mesh in the bottom...It lookds a very good net. How much? with postage £10:eek: Amazing! Equally as good as the 30 plus, though i suppose Dinsmores is not a fashionable name....I know which net i will be using at the weekend though!
 
Hi BFW Peops,
I have found the 30plus cammo net very awkward in fast flowing water as the mesh is quite tight,the handle is the dogs though!!!!!

Dinsmores products are well made, made in Britain too. I use a Dinsmores handle that is excellent. Will have a look at the nets.
 
Richard are you talking about the Rock Hard Handle?
 
You probably have to see the nets in the flesh. From my experience, buying on the internet often takes a number of bites before you actually find what you want. This is expensive and time consuming. Probably the best bit of advice is to probably opt for the best quality (and probably the most expensive) net that you can afford. Alternatively, visit a tackle shed where they should have a decent selection. Must echo Neil's thoughts - Dinsmores stuff is made in the UK. Most impressed with their quick release banksticks.
 
Cheers John for alerting me to bargain! Just received my Dinsmore 32" net, arms, and spreader block off eBay (£10 inc postage). Very sturdy feel to it, and open mesh great for flowing water.

I used your tip as well John and the net arrived yesterday. Excellent quality and hope to get it wet tonight, my previous net was 42" so hopefully should make moving swims with the net nade up a lot easier. I was thinking of trying to rig up something like on the large Chub nets with a ring on the bottom of the net and a clip on the handle so the net is held back while set up so it doesn't catch on every twig in a 10 mile radius.

I also bought the Dinsmore 32" net and have used it since the middle of August bargain!
