As we reach the end of the summer I was looking at my catch reports for The Ribble this year and thought it might be interesting to put them on here to give a rough indication of the current form of the river. If others do the same it might give us an extremely rough indication of the productivity rates of our rivers.
I've not included my trotting/chub trips, just the ones where I specifically targetted barbel. Apart from one blank session, these were all 4-6 hour evening sessions on The River Ribble over four different stretches:
River: Ribble
Sessions: 11
Fish caught: 17
0-4lb barbel - 1
4-8lb barbel - 5
8-10lb barbel - 10
10lb+ barbel - 1
Average number of fish per session: 1.55
Average size of fish: 7lb 10oz
Percentage of doubles: 6%
Maybe I'm being a bit of a " Statto" here but I'd be keen to know how this compares to other rivers. I don't mind if people post approximate figures rather than exact of course!
