Your favourite barbel reel

Diawa SS1600's are fast becoming a favourite of mine, slowly edging the Rollin Pins down the pecking order :)

99.5% of the time I'll be using a Fred Crouch Jet (or two if conditions allow). If the river's up and a longer cast is needed, however, I have a pair of 3500b reels for backup. I'd also love a Speedia, though I won't pay the current prices. A year or two ago, the wide drum in decent knick could be picked up for £40.

Apologies for the digression. :)

Aah, a voice in the wilderness :) Had Mitchell 410, 300, 810, Abu 54, 55 57, loads of plastic things from Shimano and Daiwa and NOTHING comes close, worth every penny if you can find one.

Have to agree with Simon , the Suverans are stupendous bits of kit , but though out of my price league . Used one on a few occasions , the clutch is a joy , the look ? An acquired taste ..Stiil got some up in your loft Simon ? :D
