Which coffee grinder ?

I was wondering if any one uses a coffee grinder to grind pellets in to particals and powder ?

In the past I have used a Korda Krusha and at times it can be hard work  and I have been looking for another method ?

Pellets being much harder than coffee beans , I was wondering if a coffee grinder would be up to the job ? and if any one has used one with any success ? and could they recommend one ?

I bought an old fashioned spong/coffee grinder worked a treat.

I bought an ancient moulinex at a car boot & it does a good job. Go for one with a very thick glass jug - the plastic one I had previously got cracked when assaulted by some big halibut pellets doing many mph!

Crooky, was the old mincer up to reducing the pellets to an fine-ish, even powder, or just coarse chunky stuff mate? If yours does, mine may not have the required plates?

Cheers, Dave.

Yes Dave, it comes through as powder, I use the plate with the smallest holes, they are about 5mm dia.

Speaking of old mincers, how you doing mate? :D

Blinking cheek :D:D:D Actually I am feeling a bit minced mate :D Once again, someone has taken offence at one of my otter thread posts, when quite obviously no offence was meant. Never mind, been there before, probably will be again :p

More to the point, how are you big fella? Bearing up I hope? Mind you, being an old pikey now, you are probably as fit as a flea :D

Cheers, Dave.

Ian,
Don't you find the oily nature of pellets tend to clog up the screw system before very long? I did have one of those contraptions a while ago but gave up with it:)
