Hi all,

I am VERY pleased to say that we'll be going 'live' very soon.

We need to decide which charity we'll support with any donations we get from people wishing to join the new forum.

Please can you vote for your favourite, or suggest one that you think we should consider?

Thanks...

In the absence of Cancer Research UK my vote goes to the McMillan Nurses - the care they gave my Dad at home 9 years ago was exceptional and the whole family will always be grateful for the respect and kindness they showed him in his last few days.

Nice one Andy

Regards

Les

The McMillan charity is a fine organisation for which i only have praise BUT!
please remember the 1000s of small children getting seriously mistreated at home and elsewhere, a lot of whom are unable to communicate whats happening to them or dont get a chance to, this saddens my heart to even think people can abuse and beat small children and babies....j.w

Thats a difficult one, I would add cancer research to the list, if not altzaimers.

I've had a similar experience to Les with McMillan Nurses in 2003/4. They not only helped my dad stay comfortable to the end but they really helped my mother as well. We would have been lost without them. I would have been torn if Cancer research UK had been listed as well.

Hi men ,

I already put into the cancer reserch , and Banardos homes , so voted for the nursing care that many people have nothing but praise for . The amount we are looking to put in would make more of a difference chaneled down this route , but as always will go with the largest vote .

They are all good causes but I have gone for Macmillan MNurses for the fine work they put in

Cheers

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I think it makes sense for us to split the money 50/50 between McMillan and Cancer Research.

Cheers,

Andy,

Good choice both very worthy of support.

McMillan for me too as they were brilliant when my late father-in-law was battling bowel cancer, they couldn't do enough for him or the family!

RIP Gerald

Just thought I'd post the current total of the charity pot...

....a very healthy £144. Not bad in less than two days :)

Cheers,
