What would you have to give up?

Being a firm believer that barbel should not be stocked in stillwater, I've been thinking about what those that feel the same, would have to give up to enable us to feel totally at ease with ourselves.

So I've listed a few,

Dynamite Baits: For reasons stated elsewhere.
Angling Times annual subscription: they report on stillwater fisheries and barbel catches
Anglers Mail annual subscription:as above
Coarse Angling Today: annual subscription: as above
Angling Trust: Membership they support matchfishing in still-waters containing barbel.

Can you add to them?

Shimano..sponsoring match teams.
Daiwa...as above.
Fox...as above.
The list is endless......
Better get the bamboo cane out and tie a line to the end of it.

Just thought.........do Gold Label have anything to do with fishing on ponds with Barbel in them???
Baler twine will have to do.

Bloody hell, Fred. Are Steve and the BS sponsored by all this lot as well?

Probably best to just give up membership of the Society. Take an individual stand.

:D
That's more like it....:D

Whoops....for Simon's post.
Declan....hardly.

i was always under the impression that any spare Barbel from Cajverton, were sold off to commercials. Or is that just boxxocks, which is what i always thought.

Fred, Guys,

This is very childish.

Andy, etc, do not run this site for the purpose of having a go at or defending the Barbel Society, this is the EXACT behavior that brought down the old BFW, grow up and get lives.............

Go fishing for god's sake, for whatever species YOU like in whichever stillwater you have legal access to...........

Please, please, please don't ruin this site for the rest of us, and Ray, that goes for you too.............

Now play nice............

I couldn't agree more Ian, this site is for barbel anglers and should never allowed to be used for personal agenda, as the old site was!

Rhys...I haven't a clue either!!
Where have you been??

Alright Rich.
Posting the odd thing here and there, this site's just seems to end up with weird 'posted out of boredom' topics in the close season!

Yes...you are right.
I'm looking forward to the new season....we'll have a regional meeting at Bransford with a fish in if I can get the go ahead.

Sounds good mate, hopefully be able to make this one.
Looking forward to the new season myself, pools starting to bore me already! Though it might help if I was catching something interesting.

Hmm...we seem to have hijacked this thread and turned it into a personal correspondence! oops!

At one time it was possible to buy barbel from Calverton, but this is no longer the case. I think I am right in saying that all the fish Calverton produce are now used for stocking rivers, mostly for restocking after pollutions, etc.

So what are you doing here then Fred as it is BS Stillwater Barbel Issue related and therefore indirect 'personal agenda' on behalf of the BS and yourself being a current' committee member!
It should be on the Stillwater Thread to where you can also answer the other questions posed.

Best Regards...Ray

I'm on here Ray, because like the majority of the 487 active members, I know that if I really want answers I can go direct, without suffering the inuendo and bending of truths.
