what paste you guys using?

I use a mix of fibre paste like sonubaits krill and halibut groundbait and mix water and egg to get the paste!

but hard to get it how I really wont it! comes off hook after minute or so!

do you just add another egg to mix?

If it's coming off your hook after a minute or so it sounds like it's too soft, so adding more egg wouldn't help. Experiment...make your paste, stick a small bait sized ball is a glass, and see how long it keeps its shape.

Hi men,

Buy some cheap sausages , take the skin off 3 of them and add your powder to make a stiff paste , lots of attraction .

Try using a mixture of Sonubaits krill paste and fibre paste but use liquid krill instead of water or Sticky Baits krill paste. If you try the former give it plentye of time to absorb the liquid and "set".Can be a bit messy but with experimence and patience a good paste can be achieved

BTW .... adding an oil rather than water will always lower the 'dissolvability' of the paste you make, and will usually** improve its texture
**I won't get into the difference between 'absorption' and 'adsorption' here :D

I think like Terry the water is the issue try just the egg and work it well into the powder, and keep it in a sealed bag to stop drying out.A lot of the paste mixes/recipes are made to be used sloppy and lowered into the water under a float with a pole, by carp match anglers, the carp puddle fish like sloppy paste rather than hard paste. The float is cocked by the weight of the paste so that when its gone the angler can see and rebait

Top stuff guys and thanks for info!

will give the water a miss and use oil and egg and do little at a time!

do you use your paste around a boilie or would it be better on paste coil/cage?

Round a boilie for me.
Drop a piece in near the edge and watch the fry and minnows attack it. Small stuff doing the same around your bait must generate a good sent trail.

You can make up paste very easily from ingredients mainly from the Co-op.
Ground maize meal
Yellow semolina
Ground almond meal
Milk powder
Pastry (blue packet)
Garlic oil
Krill powder (not the Co-op)
flavour
You can add cheese to this, such as Danish blue, mature chedder.

This is cheap to make and you can refine this as you like. Its much cheaper than boilie mixes. I have caught loads of barbel on pastes like this.

Sounds like a good recipe Paul, Think I'll try that one.

Its not messy but it stinks. With this you will have enough powder to make several mixes.
You could mix all these up with eggs and not use the pastry. Good for Chub to. I use it to wrap around boilies.
