I didnt say it was not a fair price Clive. I was just pointing out that in real terms I could probably fish for a year and buy the gear to do it for that kind of money .

Whilst it’s a lovely reel and I’ve seen Dean’s for sale on social media and been tempted, I’ll stick to my battered Avon Supreme. Never mind the Wallis cast, I’ll be pleased when dropping a float in the edge doesn’t result in a tangle. Don’t think that problem is getting solved by throwing money at it...

A reel is worth what someone will pay for it. Simples.

Whether it's better value and works better than cheaper ones is irrelevant.

A significant number of fishing bits you could buy even 10 -15 years ago are worth double what was paid then.

No need to go back to 100 year old Hardys.
