Wanted - Okuma Sheffield and Hardy Richard Walker Carp 1 or 2 fibreglass rod

After both of the above. Keep losing eBay auctions at the last second, which has been doing my nut in for the best part of a year.

Cosmetic condition of either not really a factor (i.e they don't have to be museum pieces) as long as they are both in fine useable condition, no wobble on the Sheffield, and no missing inches or eyelets or rewhipping needed on the Hardy (I have no preference out of 1 or 2).

Steve I have just had a look in my shed and have found a fibreglass Richard Walker Carp rod by Hardy. It has the original cloth bag with it but does not state whether it is 1 or 2. The blank is dark brown with lime green whippings. The rod is in good condition no rewhipping needed. Can send you a pic if you send me your number/email.I think I purchased this rod around 1975ish let me know if this is what you are after.

Hi Mike.

That sounds to me like number 1, or at least the original Walker Carp - the blank for 2 was almost black, and it said "No2" just above the handle, whilst the rods inscribed with "No1" were later improved versions (I don't know what the improvements were) of the one you have.

So, yes - just what I'm after.

How much would you be willing to part with it for?
 
Hi Steve yes I think it is a No 1 or original, the whipping is tipped with black which i think was a feature of these. To be honest i really do not know what to ask for. I have had a look at some of the vintage tackle sites and they seem to make good prices as fairly rare but I am not looking to make a bomb just a reasonable offer. Do you want to PM with with an offer?
