Evening all

If anyone has one of these they wouldn’t mind parting with feel free to pop me a message.

I’m after the 11ft 1lb10oz/ 1.6lb, I believe it is referred to as the SU Avon.

Thank you

Hi Christian, be careful what you wish for, i had one, and it was like a floppy sock. But each to their own. Just my opinion of course.

Hi Derek, the blank looks the same as the Standard Specialists. I am hoping the action will be similar and in 11ft.

Dave Lumb describes the SS as 'Compound action with a tip that bends easily into a progressively stiffer butt while retaining a through action.'

From what I've read that generally seems to match up with the SU Avon, except for the proportion of people who consider it a floppy sock 😁

I have the peregrine avon 11. 1. 6. Marron whippings and silver wye but. Used maybe 4 short sessions, I could be persuaded to part with. Paid Roger 300 for it maybe 3 years ago . I have his receipt and bag. Pm me if interested. But I am in Essex.

Question, and please excuse my ignorance on this - is this not essentially the 11ft Torrix 1 1/2lb rod? I have a pair of those and they are best part of new, seem slightly soft initially until you pull into them, then a lot more punch than you would imagine, really nice rods in my opinion. Think they have a little Union Jack sticker on them and called the Bollox for some reason. Got them off here 2nd hand.

Why not just order one up. Get it built how you want it.

Thats my next stop Rich 👍 I do like the idea of one with a screw down reel seat for centrepin use.

Weirdly, although I do like the 11ft 1.75lb Torrix I bought a year or so back, I have changed my tune and decided I am not a fan of it with the centrepin.

Although just to be clear, I’m not that fussy, Dave kindly said he had a 4 piece and a silver wye button is just not for me. Any standard cork handle would do the job.
