Does anyone know who controls the river up from Clifton bridge back towards Clifton does anyone know if this area produces many fish thanks Alan.

Not sure on the ownership & never been asked - just park your car very wisely & be careful of the local Clifton yobs. Stones & hassle is not unusual.

Good luck, Jon

PS this is reference if your fishing the Clifton side. I think it is Notts Fed on Beeston side & there are signs to the effect of no night fishing tho a few do

Beeston side is Nottingham University near the bridge and then Notts Anglers Association up to the weir, i think the Clifton side is Notts federation.

It does produce fish but heed Jon's warnings

regards
Richard

Thanks for the clarification Richard, it's been a few moons since I cast a line that way. Nice bit of water - just a pity the more scenic spots are appended to Clifton.

Just park next to the Beeston Canal & walk anything from a few to fifteen minutes for the Notts AA stretch. Few swims slightly overgrown but positively arm chair like compared to the tidal!

An old thread, but has anyone fished this stretch recently? I was there a fortnight ago and blanked, but a chap on the opposite bank pulled a 16lb barbel out of the weir pool. Thinking of giving it another shot tomorrow.

alan, beeston side is notts fed,it by the ruby club, think i parked by the canal,
