trakker clothing

I was recommended a Trakker Tundra suit by a tackle dealer as a good/better alternative to another product I ordered which he does not have in stock. I had never heard of them tbh, but doing some on-line search i can see they look like quite a big outfit. Anyone got any of their clothing or specifically the tundra suit - is it good gear ?

I bought the £99 clothing set a few years back.
I have been pleasantly surprised, the bib doesn't look particularly waterproof but having fished in some lousy conditions it did keep me dry.

Most Trakker gear is well made IMO.

Richard

Richard,
You are almost unique in being happy with the Trakker clothing bundle. Nearly everyone slates it. I bought it too and I'm with the others I'm afraid. I had to go out in a boat in france to release a tethered fish. No sooner had I got into the boat than the heavens opened up. Needless to say, I returned to the bank soaked through and much wiser. I have Thompsoned the jacket but it is still not very good and I am looking to get something else now. In my opinion the Trakker bundle is definitly one to avoid.

Got a sundrige coat and bib and brace fully water proof keeps u warm as toast even got free sundridge hot foot boots free think it cost me £100 well worth the money.:)

Bought a Trakker Storm shirt for work a little while ago, it would be hard to think of anything that lets more water in  never again.

I received the Trakker bundle as a 'present' 4 or 5 years ago, and I can honestly say I've never had the misfortune to own anything so crappy in my whole life. The zips especially are complete rubbish. Eather the tags (some kind of plastic) fall off, or else they 'gape open' - not so good in clothing which you'd like to wear in the wet..

Just as a matter of interest, if you 'Thomson' an item of clothing (or tent, bivvy, whatever), you will make it waterproof (if you apply it properly), but you will permanently destroy it's breathability....which of course means that you will get as wet from condensation (from sweat) gathering on the inside of the item as you would from the rain itself :D

Sad but true.

Cheers, Dave.

thanks for the feedback gents, I have ordered the new Sundridge Igloo suit and as they don't have it in stock yet they offered me the trakker instead. I will def wait for the Sundridge, I already have one of their old bib n braces which has been very good.

Agree with other posters on the Trakker Bundle = total poo!

Bought one 4-5 yrs back on recommendation of a 'friend'?

First time out in the rain - I'd of been dryer if I'd of jumped in the bloody river!

I named it the Trakker Tea Bag...bin!

Never again!

I'll stick with walking/climbing type outlets for my technical gear.

I bought an old stock Trakker 'pertex' sleeping bag a while back, and phoned them up to ask the best way to have it cleaned. The person who answered the phone said that they no longer make that model, and the boss wasn't there to ask, but 'going by memory', they should be machine washed.

When 'the boss' was finally available a day or two later, he told me he thought they should be dry cleaned. Being a bit dissatisfied with the vagueness of all this, I enquired further and discovered that dry cleaning would actually destroy the filling....wonderful...NOT

Cheers, Dave.

It reallys annoys me that you can buy something off the internet only for the shop/seller to come back to you and say it's not in stock. If you don't have it in stock then don't put it up on the website.

It's happened to me a couple of times and I simply never shop with them ever again.

There is a difference in oppinions here but mostly are negative on older stuff 4-5 years old. Perhaps they have upped their game in recent years, I dont know but I purchased severall items of there gear last year and am more than impressed the Delta and the Pertex ranges I cant reccomend highly enough, now as a river angler your only protection against the elements are your clothes generally you dont have a bivvy generally to take refuge in so therefore the "lower end ranges" such as the storm tex are not going to perform as well as more expensive ranges I do plenty of hill walking all year round and i have paid up to £350 for a jacket that let me down in the rain but that was down to poor maintenence modern fabrics need washing regular and treated properly, all these breathable jackets are fantastic but they rely on micro pores to breath any dirt mud slime etc blocks these and it cant breathe this thendoesnt let persperation out making the inside damp. I think what i am saying is its not always the manufacturers fault and 4-5 years worth of use will take its tol and as said previously thompsons is terrible stuff for fabrics.

liked the look of the tracker but also heard some negative stuff so got the korum jacket and bib-n-brace set last year. only used once so far but stayed dry and so warm i had to remove some under layers to keep it on. find it a bit stiff but think it'll wear in well. had a nash set before but found i'm too big for it when i sat down and the front split from crouch to navel:eek:, shame they don't make that any more as the fabric was almost silent to move in
