Harrison torrix 12ft 2.25lb Tc any one know what these are like in comparison to a chimera 3 I’m after a decent big river barbel rod

Robert. Attached is a link to DLST site that gives a description of the Chimera 3 and the Torrix ranges. It seems the Torrix range are tippier and suited to casting boilie and lead for carp. I have Chimera 3's, but can't comment on the Torrix range through actual use. Dave Lumb comments on both the Torrix and Chimera ranges for barbel fishing on the big rivers. This link may help http://www.dlst.co.uk/chimera.htm

IMHO the differences between the relatively new Torrix 2.25 blank and the Chimera 3 are quite noticeable - both in terms of action and physical characteristics. Made a few Torrix 2.25 (and Chimera 3).
Cheers
Bob

Hi bob in what way are they different would you say the torrix 2.25lb is a softer rod then the chimera 3

Hi Rob, I'd say the the Torrix is tippier.
I've never really personally liked the Chimera 3 but I'd say that it's more suited to heavier load casting.
There could be several other possible choices Multi carp 2.25, Acurix and Ballistas to name just three.
Cheers
Bob
