Could anybody give me a website for the moon lunarcycles which is for fishing?.
Been on moonstrike but it looks like its not been updated for a while??
But ive heard you could get a chart with the best days and time to fish from them for a small fee. Is it still running???

Is it really a gimmick John? It might be in your opinion and experience but other people may think differently.

From a personal point of view I've not found the Excellent/Grim/Poor guide to be overly accurate but the actual moon phases each day I have found to be very close to how Chris Lyons describes them. In particular, he describes a "dead" period as when waves appear to be flowing upstream and I find this is a definite sign that not much is likely to happen.

No John, I can't scientifically prove it and have no wish to either. I was offering an opinion of my own, based on my own experience, not claiming to have all the answers.

As you seem so sure of your own opinion (not fact) can you prove it is all a gimmick? Scientifically or otherwise?

jamie.. ive got a spare chart thats laminated, if you want it pm me your adress and ill get it off to you, it runs to 31/3/2012

Cheers for that paul but seeing as its yearly whats your option on it???

On Tidal Rivers there is definately something in the full moon rising and falling. In almost certain a good days fishing in my mind this wednesday the 11th it didnt really happen, the river was at its highest temp, high pressure was rising soon, cold was imminent, in my mind a good day was forthcoming. It didn really get going I caught well for Jan but not half as well as the equation's forecast. I could go on, looking back in my diary, it really doesnt happen, I will not fish on a full moon confidently.....

Jamie - you can get the charts from here: Home of Solunar Fishing and Hunting Time Tables
If you are going to use them you need the chart for your specific location otherwise the times will be out so don't bother borrowing one unless that person fishes the same river as you!

Am i a believer? Er . . . no, not convinced anyway. I know a few anglers who are but then they fish to moon times so are probably, unwittingly, manipulating their results. If you go out and fish when the charts say it should be good and catch - then that prooves the theory - right?
I've been looking at them for years now, but use them retrospectivly - i.e. i go fishing when i can, then look at the charts afterwards to see if my catches fit any pattern - that way i know i'm not influencing my resuts by concentrating during peak times.
