Teme Severn Lamprey Dumbells & Lamprey Spiced Liver Paste

Hi

I was thinking of giving these 2 baits a try after reading some good things about them.

I was wondering if anyone had used them and what they thought of them?

For hookbaits should I use the Lamprey Dumbells or go for the Boilies?

Thanks

Matt

a friend of mine used the teme/severn lamprey boilies on a trip to the river teme and couldnt go wrong on them, whereas i struggled using my normal bait.
give rich parsons a pm and see what he thinks as i know hes had success with them on the goyt aswell.
cheers
jerry

HI Matt,

These are 2 baits that NEVER leave my rucksack no matter what the conditions are. The dumbells are slightly higher in flavour level than the boilies and are excellent as single hookbaits. If you go for the boilies get the freezer baits, they are very good and quite soft enabling you to air dry them and glug them in the matching flavour or barbel pro. With regards to the paste, the shelf life one ready to go from the pot is great but if you like to have a paste with a slightly different flavour level or consistency then try the powder pack that you can make up yourself at home.

Cheers Lewis:)

The lamprey flavour range has given me 100% confidence since i started using it, as lewis said its always in my bait box too ;)

Does bait actually make that much difference?
Of the guys who have posted with glowing reports on this how many of them are on the bait team and get their bait at a reduced rate in return for publicising their catch?

I have used the T7 baits and tbh although they caught me a few fish they were no better or worse than any other commercially available bait.

Don't let this put you off trying them though, just don't expect them to be a wonder bait and empty every swim, that bait hasn't been invented yet.

hi adrain,
i tend to agree with you, there is no wonder bait, cos if we had the same food 3 days on the trot, by the 4 days u would be sick looking at it, never mind eating, lol
fish are like us, we like a varity of foods, the trick with fishing, is getting the fish to feed, when you want them to, and with a bait they want, i go to the severn every year with the lads, and some barnsley lads we know they slay the barbel that week, on pellet
so by the time you get their, the stuffed up to the teeth with pellet, so that means you will struggle, they may not feed 3/4 days later, ure week is f_____d upyour on maggots, caster hemp, tares , meat ,corn, can be very hard, or worse still late sparnwnig, ??????
you have to grin and bare, lol

It's all about confidence imo, catch a few on a certain bait then I'm reluctant to change. Same with my rigs.

Never had a fish on the Lamprey stuff. So from my perspective, not special. If I left them at home, I wouldn't be too bothered.

The most successful pellet type bait that I have ever used is not generally available. I may acquire the exclusive right to this product. I'll keep members posted as to when I can source a new batch. Unfortunately, only small quantities are made and regettably rationing will have to be imposed.

Absolute classic, create a demand and then create a shortage, perfect marketing, well done, straight out of the Apple/Playstation sales handbook.:D

Maybe, I should find a job. Although written slightly tongue in cheek, everything that I stated is true. It is different and I have found this bait to be fantastic and outfish anything on the market. I didn't have much of the bait to begin with and was trialling it. It's not commercially available and I'm trying to get some more. Unfortunately, the guy who pruduces it has bigger fish to fry and sees this product as small beer. Clearly it is a premium product and will attract a premium price - oops there I go again!

Exactly right there Ade.

An average bait applied well will always out fish a miracle/wonder bait poorly applied, its that simple.

I remember a very recent home page picture thread being 'spammed' to death by sponsored anglers, personally I found it quite comical (albeit a little cringeworthy).

Like Ade, I am not saying they're not any good but I debate if they are significantly better than many other often cheaper baits on the market.

Jim if its a pellet bait you're after send me a PM, my regular source can get hold of pretty much any size/type and quantities from 1kg to a ton+.... All at very competitive prices.:)
