Ted Carter “Winter Barbel” STILL FOR SALE AS OF 8TH MARCH

Hello Gents,
I am going to be putting the above rod up for sale. However I previously bought it 2nd hand , after fishing with it along side my Daiwa infinity’s 2.25 and 1.75 t/c I would say the ted carter tip is nearer 1.75 rather than 2.25.
After reading reports on here I see the different tips were interchangeable with the butt, so it may be a 1.75 tip ?
I have taken measurements using a micrometer (not digital) all measurements are taken on the blank at the butt side of the ring in question after the varnish on the whipping has tapered down on to the blank.
So if anyone is interested, we need to establish what tip is on the rod and go from there.
Price would be £100, will not post but would travel an hour to meet from Thirsk. N.yorks. ( petrol paid for!)
The blank and rings are in excellent used condition, small amount of damage to the cork at the front of the handle but it is “nothing”.
The micrometer readings are behind tip ring 2.37mm, next ring 3.35mm,next ring 3.64mm 897FD3D4-BC82-46ED-8495-B076E272FCBB.jpegBB756562-FEB9-4483-A413-F0EED25F2C0A.jpeg6F4834FA-65A8-4B9B-AE72-9777749C6240.jpeg6F4834FA-65A8-4B9B-AE72-9777749C6240.jpegC0F0F52A-86B4-4663-BB23-07D2DEC539EA.jpegB31679B2-51D2-46FA-AC8F-4A7988E26182.jpeg86AE9521-78B1-49D0-9FF5-4F45C432E8E9.jpegBE93C419-E06D-47DB-B589-7821ABFAC693.jpeg

Hi there I have both the 1.75's which I'm selling and the 2.25 rods. I've no micrometer but as you'll see from my photo there's a clear difference. Maybe you can judge yours against the photo
Cheers
Joe

Thanks for taking the time to do this Joe I will have a go at comparing them !

Hello Joe, after comparing your photos, with the rod, I believe it is in fact the winter barbel tip, which I believe was rated at 2.25 tc. My own personal opinion on the rod is I wouldn’t use it for chucking out 6oz on the Trent! However would probably be great for close in flood work and where you are fishing near snags due to the action which seems to bend to the corks. Probably also good for anyone using braid mainline. Once again thanks for your input.

Hi Andy, I have been looking for a TC winter to match one I have, could I have a look at your measurements tonight and get back to you. If it is the 'winter' (it is a softish 2.25tc!) I would have it in a flash.
