Went to a tackle shop today to see about a new landing net.

"Hello sir can I help ?"
Yes please looking for a new landing net"
Carp?
No?
Match ?
No
What sort of fishing do you do then???(asked in a indignant manner)
Well I fish in rivers ,,,I am a fisherman !
Uh,,they are over there

Found a net on display (a" carp " net:rolleyes:) and bought one already bagged up, got it home and its got wrong spreader block, cant assemble it !

Isnt it sad the way the trend has gone imo, with youngsters in particular missing out on so much.Everywhere you go its " carp bl##dy carp."
Still ,the river banks are quieter for us lot as a result.

you fish rivers, what next!
were a strange lot..lol
i got a decent 32 off ebay for £15.

I actually find quite the opposite these days with many Carp anglers switching there attention to Barbel fishing and the rivers becoming very, very busy indeed. As far as the shop goes, I would find a different one, I am again lucky as all my local shops are excellent.
