Hi all, im going on a day with Pete Reading for grayling in feb and want to upgrade my centrepin (cortesi) as the ratchet has gone and want something more reliable.
now the quetion is do I go for a speedia narrow or a trudex?
Any info much appreciated

Steven. You will really enjoy your day with Pete. Presumably the Frome.

Even managed a salmon (bit coloured) about 14lb on a size 18 to 2.4 bottom.

Took a lot of grayling fishing time though!

Graham.

Steve, a speedia narrow every time over a trudex as its a workhorse of a reel and everything is in the right places, I have both and would always use my speedia narrow over my trudex although in the right situation that is also nice to use.

I use an Allcock Match Ariel and a Speedia wide drum for grayling fishing.
They're both lovely reels, but although the Allcock was a lot more expensive I actually prefer my Speedia.
Can't comment on the Trudex but decent Speedias are excellent for trotting.
