snail ledger weights

Senior Member
I have made some ledger weights out of snail shells, an idea I got from a barbel book
now my only worry is, do you guys think that they will get picked up/bites from chub on the snail causing false bites???

At least its not sluggish!

Good money saving tip though no 'shelling' out!

That reminds me of the motorized coots designed to sneak a pike bait out on certain very private Norfolk Broads.... all very good until a pike decides to eat that motorized coot!

Not dissimilar to a chap i know who tried to disguise his bait boat as a swan for use on a water where such devices are not welcome. First outing and the resident cob ensured it never sailed again! :)

Also using snails filled with halibut paste as a hook bait.
