Re. 4000 OC reels ..... I bought a pair of 'new' ones off eBay, although I only wanted one, thinking I'd sell one on (as have no use for it). They're both spotless, and the one still has the untouched paper band around the inside of the spool (where line is first laid). But I noticed strange, almost identical, markings on the underside of the baitrunner/freespool control knob on both reels. Is this usual?

Hi Terry,
I have three, purchased at different times. Checked and they are all pretty smooth. I think the part is an injection moulding and the moulds get dirty over time, so perhaps your parts were produced just prior to a mould clean.
Have to say, I love these reels, great performance and super value. Even spare spools are cheaper than other models.
