Severn Stoke and Trimpley ???

Been looking on the BAA website for new venues this year and am interested in Severn Stoke and Trimpley.

Have any of you guys fished them and if so can you give me any good information to help me out ???

Hi Rob, two very different venues, if you don't mind sitting it out for a bigger fish then Seven Stoke is for you, if you prefer plenty of action then head for Trimpley.
 
I think I am going to head for Trimpley and Severn Stoke with my spade, saw and scythe to check out the banks for decent swims.

What are the pegs like at Trimpley and Severn Stoke??? do they get much use ???

Will they need digging out or are they pretty well established ???

Hi again Rob, I can bring my strimmer and chainsaw too:) Seriously you don't have to worry about access at SS it is a rocky bank there and for the most part you will be perched on a ledge. At the car park you will have two options upstream or down, I usually walk upstream and if you really fancy a stroll the further upstream the better, very beautiful fishery too, there is a big Herony (that fish the lake on the opposite bank) and the cliffs at the top of the fishery are a nice back drop.
But it is HARD, however if you put the time and bait in you should be OK...a local well known tackle dealer 'filled in' a few seasons back and caught quite a few, but I guess his bait was subsidised:)
If you are open to catch any species then the hybrids are good fun, I trot a stick down the near side before the evening barbel blank:eek:
Trimpley fished it once on a August bank holiday, it was murder too busy and the river was chocolate colour, need some local knowledge on that one .
 
Its a bloody good walk to the Trimpley stretch, I've found it a bit hit and miss, some pegs are very snaggy. Nice quiet stretch though.
