Severn Shropshire Ship Inn

Hi Guys, Got a family holiday here comming up and I need pack a light kit so I can get a few hours in on the Severn, Any basic advise on this location so I can take less gear please, whats the flow like and what size leads would I normally need, Im assuming a standard feeder with meat, pellets boilies. Any other advise on necessary kit other than the obvious would be useful thanks.

Location is https://www.google.co.uk/maps/search/shropshire+old+ship+inn/@52.4479664,-2.3756158,16z

Kevin,
I fished the baa stretch just down stream of the pub a couple of years ago. The river was low and my kit was, 12' - 1.75test avon rod. 10 mainline. 2 - 3oz lead/feeder.
But if there is a bit of rain the week before you go, you could well need bigger leads and stronger line.
I suggest you check a level gauge near your location and watch the local weather before deciding what to take.

I have stayed at the ship and surrounding cabins many times,at the moment it is very low,the day ticket stretch ranges from faster beachey swims upstream to deaper slower water outside the pub,it can be night fished if you fancy that, but being a family holiday i doubt that will be an option, gets quite busy but there's usually somewhere to go,oh and dont worry about finding the bailiff to pay him,he will be there soon after you start fishing, his names burt and a right old character lol,was £6 last season pretty sure will be the same this one, good luck👍

Thanks guys appreciate the knowledge, apparantly they have a small lake too so may have a dangle in there if the river not fishing, Think Im only going to get the odd hour or 2 here and there.
