Self catering on the Severn /Wye

Hi, just mulling over 2018 short break hols, and the idea of a cottage on the banks of the Severn or Wye sounds nice, I have already looked on the BFW site, but wondered if anybody had any alternative ideas, dates would be 7-14 July.

Fishing included sounds good, but day ticket would be fine, no match stretches though .

Have a look at Brobury house and gardens. Two cottages plus b and b with a quiet stretch of the Wye in their own grounds. Or in the same area The Red Lion at Bredwardine bridge which has accommodation and day ticket water.
Will report on my Wye holiday at Symonds Yat in September.

If you are looking for somewhere on the Wye, Flanesford Priory just below Ross is another good option.

Many thanks everybody for suggestions and assistance, I will take all on board, and now start looking for a place that suits both myself and She Who Must Be Obeyed.

I find it keeps the peace if there are sufficient things to keep us both occupied, she doesnt fish, but likes photography , steam trains and history, it looks as though we will be able to fit all three in well enough.
