It is with much sadness that I am reporting that a good friend, Fred Crouch, passed away earlier today.

Fred had suffered ill health for a number of years.

Fred was something of a legend in the (barbel) angling world, and his wit and his stories will be sadly missed.

Very very sad news.
A legend.

His first book Understanding Barbel is one of the best barbel books ever.

He will be sadly missed.

My thoughts are with his family
