Rolling meat on the trent

Was thinking about giving it a try but.not sure it will be effective on such a big river.
Ive done it on the dyke around bobs island and had fish, but throwing a single piece of meat about on the tidal with no discernible features seems like it might.be a bit of a thankless task.
Anybody had success or tried it on such rivers?
 
I’ve not tried it myself yet but I don’t see why it wouldn’t be effective in the right swims? I know people (Ian Potts) use the method in weir pools etc but not sure about the tidal?
