Rods

Still considering buying Mark Tunley built 2.5 chimeras for the Trent. Anyone used the Peregrine heavy water rod and also the Peregrine flood rod? Any remarks would be helpful as I've never bought rods without having seen them and I'm still unsure wether I can spend that sort of cash unless I've had a play with them.

Hi mate,

In the past I had the original Peregrine flood rod....it and the mk II are very different rods to anything else you would come by, a real specialist tool.

Marks Flood rod is again a specialist tool and I found it to suit my fishing better than the Peregrine.

Each rod maker is superbly skilled and their rods, along with Bob Gill have the hallmark of builders who really know their stuff. Best advice is to ring Roger M, Mark T or Bob and discuss your requirements with them. They all fish for barbel amongst other species and are anglers the same as the rest of us, they will all be happy to chat about options and wont push you into a sale.
