Rod rest head

Senior Member
I’m having a very bad month. Thought to try and make it better I’d sneak a day on the kennet. Walked down to it from my van went to put my rod rest in only to slip and drop the bloody thing in 5 foot of water. Now the bank stick I can live with losing but it had a metal custom made specialist rod rest head on it which I brought years ago and now can’t find one for love nor money. Steve Neville used to do one similar and next time I’m in Yateley I’ll see if they still sell those. Does anyone know where I can get another. Without a picture it’s hard to explain but it was about 3†long, 2 bits of metal one straight, one bent basically but I just preferred to all the current plastic ones. To cap a long story short I then found out I’d forgot my bait and leads so didn’t even cast a line. Roll on November!

Hi Ben. Custom angling solutions do just what you want with several different options on offer. Check out their website or alternatively go to the walkers of trowell website. They do them. I believe he lives close by. Not cheap but do the job perfectly. I bought two and they're just the job.
Cheers Simon

That looks like it could be what I'm after Bob, do you make those yourself? Is the white plastic luminescent?

Cheers

Yes Joe used to make them myself - base is white plastic but no problem to applying reflective or glow in the dark layer. Even made an 'isoblob' type one ( very expensive) as an experiment. The inner lining is latex - which gives some non slip properties. Also made a back rest one of different design.

Thanks Bob.

So no chance of you making another batch then. If you ever do, put me down for a couple.

Cheers,

Joe
