Rod choices

Hello,
I have been looking/searching and asking a lot of questions lately on here and other forums about choices of rods to buy, and not being that experienced let’s say a lot of it has gone right over my head.
So after all these deliberations I have narrowed my choices down to 2 makes and not because they are cheaper than others but based on what I hope will be suitability and versatility for my fishing.
They are the J Wilson Avon quiver (11’) and the Drennan Super Specialist Twin Tip Duos (11’) in 1.25Tc.
As you all are aware you can’t buy either of these new anymore so it will be a case of waiting for them coming up second hand.
One last thought, I would have liked 1lb TC but nearly impossible to find other than Darent Valley rods and they don’t make a Avon/Quiver rod.
I know a lot of you will be cringing and some will agree that these 2 choices will be ok. So any last opinions will be appreciated appreciated.

Cheers Wayne

Wayne,
The Tackle Box make/sell a 1.25lb TC Twin Tip in the Darent Vally range which my mate has and he finds it a very versatile rod. https://www.tacklebox.co.uk/rods-en...ley-11ft-1.25lb-avon-quiver-twin-tip-rod.html

Hi Wayne, I've got a pair of green 11ft John Wilson Masterline/Ryobi twin tips (Avon/Quiver) that I rig up every year for chub fishing, and then never use. They've sat in a rod rack in my garage and last saw the bank over 20 years ago, but before then they were my 'go-to' rods. The corks show sign of wear but otherwise they're fine. PM me if you're interested.

Yeah, you're right Graham/Richard ... must start using them. They caught me a lot of fish, 'til the barbel got too big :)
