Roach Rod Advice

I can recommend the Cadence 3# feeder. I use mine primarily for maggot/ castor fishing with blackcaps 30-50gm, 6 lb line for chub.
Not too many big roach where I fish but plenty of big shy biting chub and with a 1.5 or 2 oz tip i get to see all the bites and still enough backbone in the rod to take control and keep them out the snags( in the right swim). I've also landed quite a few barbel on it but can be a lengthy affair compared to a dedicated barbel rod with more power and heavier line, but it will do it if you're patient and have a forgiving swim. I use a 13' as it suits what I do but I'm sure they do a range of lengths. From the sounds of it the big roach you catch are serendipitous so I think you need to have something that will give you a fighting chance with bigger barbel/ chub , but will allow a pleasant scrap with modest fish and the odd monster roach?
Just a shame you can't handle one in the tackle shop, so you're buying blind or trying a mates, but quality is excellent, it's more of how it feels for you.
My mate doesn't like mine as the blank isn't the thinnest and prefers the Acolyte which is another lovely rod but +£100 roughly.
As previously stated, more good rods than bad ones on the market at the moment for all budgets, so a nice problem to have.

Hello,

I fish the Severn at Bridgnorth. Every year, I have caught a few good quality roach, mainly on pellets when targeting barbel. However, cranking in a roach on a 1.75lb barbel rod, isn't much fun.

Can anyone recommend me a roach feeder rod, or the kind of rod I should be looking for? After a quick internet search, I saw that the Darent Valley rods are liked by some. Does anyone have an opinion on these rods? https://www.tacklebox.co.uk/rods-en...darent-valley-11ft-0.75lb-specialist-rod.html

Also, if anyone has advice regarding baits, rigs, what swims to look out for, then that would be great.

Would be grateful for any advice

Thanks
I've used anything from 12oz to 1.5lbs TC for roach. Conditions and size of river will dictate as to what I'll end up using. There really isn't just one rod to suit all occasions, you'll need at least three.

For me it’s my fox ard023 specialist float 3 piece.
I use it for mostly trotting for the roach dace chub etc
If you can find one it would definitely be worth a go 👍
