River Wye summer fishing times

Hi, can anyone please let me know the fishing times for Courtfields and Wyebank before I make a booking. Also what size feeders would I need at p resen?
Many Thanks.
Serge

I think all W&UF beats are dawn to dusk, Serge. Big variety of swims from slow and deepish to fast and shallow, so I'd be inclined to go 3-4 oz feeders to save you bouncing the feeder into a snag.

Serge I fished Courtfield on the 19th and 2oz feeder was more than enough to hold bottom. River is really low at present with severe lack of rain. Times are dawn till dusk as Steve said

Hi Steve
Thanks for the reply. I can now work around those times.
Tight lines.

I was on Courtfield for Saturday evening ( 2 barbel to 9lb 1oz ) and 2oz was fine, but take some 3s just in case of weed dragging lighter ones into snags. Some days there's not much weed, others you'd swear someone was cutting upstream.

The fishing is dawn to dusk as already stated, if possible do what WUF advise and fish early and late unless you have a high tolerance threshold. The canoeists can be a nightmare, moreso on weekends.

Hi Gwyn thank you for the feedback. I'm up there this Friday so Im well prepared now. I am going to fish early and then the evening as the heat in the afternoon is a waste of time.

Good luck fella. The swims in the meadow place you well above the water, given the conditions that is far from ideal. I refused to fish them as I need hands-on contact with a fish about to be released. Those swims are very sluggish and you are 4 or 5 feet above the water meaning your only option for resting and releasing are holding them in the net.
If they go belly up, you're screwed.

The first 2 or 3 croys in the woods still offer a decent flow and depth, the lower you go below there the slower the flow gets until you hit the tail end of the pool.

Tight lines fella.

Hi Gwyn many thanks for the advice. I fished it hard last week but couldn't get past the eels. Couldn't find a strong enough flow to fish. Then the heavens opened and monsoon rain came through. In the end I blanked.
