River Wye North of Hereford

Have a weeks holiday booked close to Hereford and wondered if there was a day ticket venue close by with a chance of a Barbel. I am not familiar with the area or the River Wye so any pointers or tips would be most welcome - thank you.

Kevin, there is lots available.... Hereford day tickets are available from the two tackle shops in town, they have stretches both upstream and downstream, barbel and chub in numbers all through, Id recommend the faster shallower swims in summer. Upstream you have Letton Court on day ticket (search for it on facebook) or the Red Lion at Bredwardine. Lastly look at the Wye and Use foundation website for their beats.

Sounds like I might need a float rod. 'Another fishing rod ??' I can hear the Missus say. That is until I remind her how much her Hairdo, nails and facials cost compared to my £10 haircut, that and my fishing rod will outlast all of them works everytime.......
