River Strat/Neet?

Hi all,

Im after some advice here, planning on fishing the River Strat/Neet whilst on hols in Bude. Ive heard that fishing the tidal end of the river brings some good bass and mullet.
How do I go about it, do I have to get a permit or is it not necessary as its joining with the sea? I will have my environmental agency rod licence anyway.
Any advice would be appreciated.
