River Kennet Old Mill

Hi Folks.

Is the Old Mill worth a cast any more ?
I have been for a look on Sunday and only one angler there . I remember the days when you had to queue in your car by the gate .

River looks very dirty.
Any up to date information would be great , no point in asking the bailiff there !

richard why not ask the baliff, if its still peter he would always bring anyone up to date if asked the right way and was always a really helpful and knowledgable man, maybe its quiet because like most peope these days are feeling the economic pinch

Richard I spoke to Peter the bailiff in march regarding the old mill he said it does not fish for Barbel like it did but still holds fish but £14 per day if its on your way home not to expensive

Richard there is a video of Peter the bailiff rolling meat on that section of river not sure if it was Tv or internet touch ledgering upstream have a word with him I'm sure he is there to help

barbel much fewer in numbers on most, if not all, kennet stretches, lot of big fish gone, RDAA has a number of bits you can get a day ticket on or a guest ticket if you go with a member. The guest tickets are on the more traditional barbel stretches like Benyons i believe.
