River goyt poachers

All be it that poachers are going to fish the rivers during the close season it would be half decent of them to take there **** home with them and not set fire to the bankside vegitation and cause irrepairable damage to the bankside

just a point for all you poachers to note when you come on here lurking about, your presence on the river and the damage you have caused to the bankside has been reported to the enviroment agency and local council.

Untill the day comes when you are caught and fined please have a thought for the law abiding anglers who pay for the privelage to fish the river and 1 take your litter home, 2 if you know your going to be cold take some warm clothes instead of setting fire to whatever you can get your hands on, 3 instead of a homemade barbecue, take a F****** pack lunch like the rest of us

Seen virtually the same scene on the Soar, the cause of our mess was down to our East European friends - saw them in the act, so no guesswork.

poachers.

Why dont some of you get together and do a regular patrol?
After all, we have nothing else to do!

Half a dozen burly blokes should be enough to deter any poachers and improve the education of whoever it is that is fishing illegaly.

A troop of camo clad nutters appearing in the middle of the night would be enough to deter me if i was fishing legally, never mind illegaly.

Regards,
Jeff

Sounds like good sport, but I know it will be getting arrested for throwing some kid in the river, plus I would rather see them in court with the EA.

I will be walking the park this Sat looking for more young boys.

"I will be walking the park this Sat looking for more young boys."

Good grief! I've read about this kind of stuff being on the internet but I never thought I'd see it on here!

Hi Gents,

It would appear that the 4 'anglers' who were fishing Pear Mill weir yesterday afternoon have not got this message.

Dave

P.S. I was walking through Vernon Park when I saw them (opposite bank), I had no phone with me either.

even if they had seen it, they wouldnt give a s**t, they,d still go about recking the place. Eveytime i,ve been down i,ve had to inform people its the close season or membership, last week i even caught an off duty police officer, who told me he thought the close season had been scrapped and thats somebody who,s supposed to know and uphold the law
cheers

Jerry. It's the same down here on the Derbyshire Derwent mate, Gangs of teenage lads/girls leaving rubbish every where and NOT giving a toss about the close season!!
I doubt they have rod licence's etc, and when challenged you're met with that look of .... "What the F**k you gonna do about it"? And torrents of abuse!! I've even taken the time to 'phone the E.A. Hotline..Press option# 1 etc...To be told.. " We'll send a Bailiff team down, if there's one in the area "
Needless to say I don't hold much hope of anything being done!!

i very much doubt its gangs of teenagers, its been all older people 20,s + i,ve come across, to be fair i,ve only come across 1 small gang of kids who made the usual excuses and left.
somebody has even took the time to dig out a new peg and remove some overhanging bushes/tree branches, there goes another bit of natural fish habitat.
yesterday and today are the only days i,ve been down in the past 3 weeks and not seen anybody, however there is evidence of people fishing, whoever dave saw left a nice burnt out fire and there was a quite a few beer cans and a rather large jar of coffee further down.
it wouldnt be so bad if they took there **** with them and didnt leave huge burnt out fire,s everywhere, i hope IF the ea ever catch them they end up with a whopping fine whereas they have to sell there fishing gear to pay it
cheers

Ive been going down Sundays and did so sunday just gone.
It looked like they left early Sunday morning as the ash was still hot in the fire they had next to the weir.
