River Alt - Merseyside

Hi Everyone,

I have been walking a stretch of this river over the last few weeks and although there are rumours of there being barbel present I am yet to spot any or here of any definite catches, wondered if anyone had any info?

I fished the alt regular a few years ago,never caught any barbell but it would not surprise me if there are some in.

could be the odd barbel about but did suffer from a fish kill a few seasons ago.it was stocked last year with chub dace and roach,gets very weedy in the summer too I prefer to fish it autumn and winter
