Reel seats

My torrix carp rods did it but they are yrs old and had plenty of use fiTed a locking screw to stop it

Quite a few unfortunately.
Wind down reel seats can loosen - even on Fuji.
Sometimes happens when the reel seat is new when the reel foot and reel seat collars bed in.
Other causes.
If you have enough screw thread then it may be a good idea to fit a locking collar for extra security.
Most metal/alloy seats have locking nuts as standard/part of the design,.

Cheers
Bob

Hi Bob, how do you get the locking collar on ???
Surely you would somehow have to push over the cork ?

Sorry to mislead but it would have to be done after stripping part of the handle to do a proper job.
Try the PTFE tape for a temporary solution.
Locking collars can also 'use up' some available screw thread especially on small size reel seats and larger reel foots.

As Bill & Bob have said ... try PTFE tape before trying anything else. That should fix it. I've been using 'screw down' reel seats almost exclusively for 20 years and I've never had much of a problem with them. Yes, sometimes they can loosen half a turn, but that's more to do with how you hold the rod handle ... and half a turn isn't a 'problem' anyway (IMO). Your reel's not going to drop off.
