Reel for perch, roach

Guys need a reel for float / tip fishing rivers for perch, roach, chub - that sort of thing.

Need at least one spare spool.

£50 ish quid to spend.

Daiwa exceler look good. Not sure on size though.

Any recommendations before I head to the tackle shop?

I doubt it would be my choice but then I am an unashamed Shimano fan.
However, if you can get any Exceler new for fifty quid it would appear to be a good deal. I'd probably plump for a 3000 size in a Daiwa and a 3000/4000 size in a Shimano reel.
