Recipe for paste

I have played around with paste for many years. Normally, if you get the consistency right you can make paste out of pretty much anything using just water to bind - that can stay directly on the hook or a definite as a wrap. If your having problems use an egg to bind. Using a greater proportion of course ingredients might present more of a challenge. See the following for a couple of thoughts

I am sure that there has been a couple of articles on here in the past. Failing that, just use a reasonable/choice boilie mix, add flavours/oils to either egg &/or water & don't boil. If a mix binds for the purpose of rolling/boiling boilies then it will pretty much be a paste that has reasonable (paste like!) longevity

Old one courtesy of Scuba Steve...

2 cans of Spam grated into a bowl of bovril and brown crumb to bind into paste....gives off a good flavour stream and when prepared properly will stay on the hook well.

Also stays "fresh" for some time so a decent amount can be prepared in advance :)

I tend to use paste all the time as it gives off good flavour leakage
the way i use paste with success is to use paste springs, you can buy 2 different sizes from your tackle shop and simply fasten on your hair rig with a pellet stop. You can then mold and press the paste into the coils and squeeze tight so it stays on.;)
