Try using a shifter.

Yes I've used in them using it in conjunction with a kd rig.
Kept them quite low to the deck as well but of I'm honest didn't notice any difference in hook holds over a standard bottom

Yes, I have used pop ups. Can't really see much point when fishing rivers with a decent flow, they end up pinned down anyway. However, I can cope with using wafters (and balanced pop ups) in an attempt to have the hookbait behave a little more like an untethered freebie

Have used them, they work, but havent found need to use them that often. Find that the flow doesnt really impact on bouyancy of pop ups much at all as the flow is often more pacy on top than it is on the deck on the deeper rivers i fish. Maybe more of a problem on fast flowing shallow rivers.

Cheers lads, Its not so much for the fact of them popping up its more for the various pop ups that arnt made as bottom baits only as pop ups
