Pike Rods .

I am looking to retire my Old Pike rods and would be interested in recommendations for new Pike rods custom build? or ready made ?. My pike fishing is mainly on my club waters Small pits, the Fens and rivers such as the Great Ouse. So looking to a 2.75lb t/c rod . I do like to get out as much as possible.

Definitely if you are after the best then Harrison predator rods are the way to go and Dave lumb would be my first choice to build them.

The trouble with your requirements is you’ll probably have to make a small compromise somewhere because even small pits will require some half decent casting distance I’m sure, but with fenland drains you are practically lobbing underarm to hit the far bank margins on most of them.

Ideally I’d probably want something like a p1 or X1 for the pits at 12ft and a p2 or p5 for the drains at 11ft
However as you want something to do both reasonably well my personal choice would be the p1.
It might feel a little long particularly on some of the real narrow land drains but at least it’s going to get a bait where you need in both scenarios.

I only fish small to medium rivers and drains for pike and my rods (p2) are just right for what I need. Small to medium baits at 25-30 yards absolute maximum.
They’d be pretty useless on a pit for anything more than 8 -10 rod lengths out. In some cases this would be barely over the marginal shelf.

If you're looking for a shorter rod , maybe 10ft , look no further than the 2.75 torrix, it's great for upto 25yd lobs with smaller to medium sized deads..
It's got a mid to through sort of action with a softish tip.
Great crossover from Zander to pike rod ,imo...
