Old Keepnets wanted!

Steve Williams

Senior Member
If any of the local lads have any old unwanted keepents, I'm trying to get together around a dozen.

What for you ask, well I'm in the process of getting up some 'junior' fishing session through my local junior football club.

We have around 10 Junior football teams, all with around 15 players.

The idea is, I run a series of dad & lad 'matches'.

I have just taken delivery of a load of club Korum float/pole sets (they look brilliant!!), but one thing is, having spoken to the lads, that they would like to see what they have caught at the end.
I'm only allowing 'silvers' to be put in nets, and the fishing sessions are only 2 hours long.
Carp will be weighed and returned at the time of capture, and the silvers weighed at the end, so we can have a winner....

If anyone has an old keepnet, even if it has a hole or two, so long as I can mend it, I'd really appreciate it if they would be willing to donate it to the cause...

Steve
PS, apologies for it not been Barbel related...

I'm sure I''ve got some 'new' ones in the garage that you're welcome to Steve. I'll have a look tomorrow...

I really wish I could help Steve, but it has been more years than I care to remember since I owned a keep net :p However, if you don't end up with enough nets, let me know and I will happily buy one for you.

Meanwhile, without wishing to embarrass you, could I take this opportunity to express my appreciation for all the time and effort you put in to helping other folk, and kids in particular. I don't know you personally, but the more I read and hear, the more impressed I am. The world could do with a whole lot more people like you Steve, it would be a much better place for it. Good on ya mate.

Cheers, Dave.
