Okuma interceptor 350

I have a quite old Interceptor IBF5O which has never let me down. Recently I saw them advertised at Amazon for under £25 which I thought was a good deal so I purchased one after taking it out the box and flicking the bale arm open and winding back to engage and it seemed quite responsive until I attempted to flick it open at what I can describe as "6.25" and it would not open other than that position it is great so I sent it back. Today I received a replacement I then checked it and sure enough at the same position it does not open before I take issue I am wondering if this is now the same on all the new IPB350 it certainly was'nt on my old one. I would appreciate a few replies if any one else has one

I've got an IBP 340 - just over 12 months old. I've had no problems with the bale arm at any point on its rotation but there is one point where the baitrunner doesn't work - the line roller is closest to the rod handle. I rarely use the baitrunner except to give myself line when rebaiting or when I turn my back to the rod, so it isn't a big deal, but I do check where the bale arm is before I flick the baitrunner on. Going into the river to get it back is something I only want to do once.:D

OK...here's another check you can do on a IPB 340 (same as 350 except size) to check for 'crappiness' :D

Tighten the baitrunner clutch at the back of the reel up really tight, as though you wanted to really lock it up solid...no line given sort of thing.

Now try to loosen it again, so that line comes off freely, like virtually free spooling.

Tell me how you get on.

Cheers, Dave.
