Tackle tart!;)

I have a 'powerstretch' every morning Andy....nowadays it sometimes ends up with a big 'click' and I am booggered for the rest of the day :p:p

Cheers, Dave.

That landing net is a lovely bit of kit but tbh it would be wasted on me.
I'm the sort of guy who only washes my car if I'm going to sell it and my gear comes in for allot of stick. One of the Trent venues I fish is composed of a sandy gravel bank which gets in everywhere and as a consequence tends to wreck anything it gets into. My powerstrech was particularly vulnerable to it forcing me to stop using it a couple of years ago and go back to my matchmans three piece 10' collapsible telescopic thing.
It cost me a tenner in the mid 90's, is about half the weight of the powerstrech, 2 feet longer, never jams, needs no maintenance, is easy to manoeuvre in tight swims, and if it does ever let me down I found another one in the bargain bucket at cash providers for £8 (I knocked them down to a fiver).
So, if you are in the market for a new landing net handle don't think you have to spend 70 or 80 pounds, there are plenty of bargains to be had which will do the job just fine. coupled with my Daiwa folding round net http://www.daiwashop.co.uk/store/specialist/landing-nets/daiwa/daiwa-folding-round-frame at £15 it does all I need of a net.

Yeah that was something that bothered me. My previous net handle was a telescopic affair (which I chose at the tackle shop) but the grit and abuse wore the joint, leaving me with a three foot handle...

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to polish my banksticks :)

I bought this net last last October and was very pleased with the quality until Saturday !! During the day in the hot sun the glue used to stick the metal sprocketts in the ends of the landing nets arms melted and both came loose. I only realised after moving swims and one was missing and the other halfway out. Luckily I went back to the last swim I left and found it. When i packed up later in the evening the glue had reset and they seem solid again but I was disappointed to get this from such an expensive piece of kit and will look to try and secure mine to avoid a repeat.

Just to be clear, having looked at Darrens review, its the alloy inserts in the net arms that came loose.

I'd still have one of these rather than some Chinese carp!!!!
which alot of tackle is now.
