New rod questions

Just bought a greys prodigy pb twin tip 2.25 tc
What is the cw on the 2.25 and distance.
Comes with 3 tips 3oz 4oz 5oz what is the max line on these and cw.

As a rule of thumb, go for 5/6 times the test curve of the rod for mono line strength, but that's an old rule of thumb, I wouldn't hesitate to use 15lb mono on a 2lb - 2.25lb rod. If using braid, use the same diameter as the mono!

As for casting weight, suck it and see, it depends on the action of the rod.

I would start with maybe a 3oz lead, and see how it feels, go up in half oz at a time, until it starts to feel too much.

3 ounces is the maximum I feel comfortable with, anything more it becomes a bit of a weighty problem and spoils the enjoyment for me. Even on a flooded Lower Severn you can get away with using smaller leads just by playing out a loop of line after casting rather than tightening up to the lead.
