New rod day out.

Hello all.

Took the new Daiwa Infinity rods to the river this week. Must say they handle heavy leads (4oz) very well. But just for now they don't feel as good as the Drennan Martin Bowler rods I up graded from. They seem to (soft) hoop over too much with a decent fish on them, almost bending double on modest fish.

Maybe I just have to get use to them, but the jury is out right now.

I know slim rods are all the rage but I like a rod with a steely feel in truth.

I've put some Shimano 8000 on them and they do enhance the rods, and make cranking big leads very easy.

I'm putting some bits and bobs together and the gear is growing. I've teamed some buzzer snag bars on to a single long rod rest, with a double rest for the small buzzers.
Just need a little rod rest angle tool so I can get the rods at the best angle. I've also invested in a solid spike twist tool for making holes on the difficult bank the Trent presents us with.

But I'm loving the barbel fishing.
