New reel’s

Jason Goodwin

Senior Member & Supporter
Am looking for some new reels to use this season, has anyone had any experience either good or bad with the Shimano Thunnus 4000 Ci4 or the Daiwa matchwinner 4012 QDA.
Looking to team these up with a pair of X - flite rods for chub and barbel.

TIA
Jason

I have a matchwinner 4012 qda, paired up with an acolyte distance feeder, they are bombproof reels with a silky smooth clutch. A bit on the heavy side but if your not holding all day then fine! I use it for big maggot feeders on Severn/Trent and has great cranking power...would thoroughly recommend. I don’t think Daiwa still make them though, if you find somewhere that has stock let me know as I would like a second one
